Lucy and I explore how to identify what makes you distinctive, relevant and credible in the rooms you want to be in.
01Why defining your value proposition is essential when navigating a career move, pitching an idea or creating new opportunities.
02How credibility, relevance, fit and motivation come together to form a compelling value proposition.
03How Lucy and I have applied this thinking throughout our own varied careers.
04How to communicate your experience in a way that people can understand, remember and connect with.
05How sharing what you want enables others to support you with the resources, access and assistance you need.
You’ll also hear Lucy and me answer audience questions about interviews, networking, discoverability and identifying the thread that connects your experience.
Your first challenge is understanding what you want. Your second is working out how to get it. “Why you?” is the bridge between the two.
Credibility, relevance, fit and motivation help you demonstrate what you bring and why it matters to the person in front of you.
You cannot get what you want on your own. You must tell other people what you want and ask for help along the way.
This session is relevant at any stage of your career, whether you are:
Considering a career transitionLooking to communicate your value more confidentlyPreparing for interviews or important professional conversationsBuilding your profile as a leader, speaker, author or entrepreneurTrying to identify what makes your experience distinctiveLooking for the right people, opportunities and rooms to help you move forward
You do not need to have your entire route mapped out. But you do need to understand the value you bring and be able to explain why you are the right person for the opportunity.
